I was having the same problem. It might have had some moisture. I opened the remote, removed the battery and left in the sun for a couple days. Another thing that might have helped me:, it is important to buy brand name batteries (no dollar store ones) 😅.

Both of them list KEYLESS ENTRY as standard equipment. Your's may not be working properly, but I doubt that JLR would build a car that is lacking it. TO LOCK: Make a fist and press the indent on the door handle with your thumb. TO UNLOCK: Wrap your fingers around the back of the door handle. Do not touch the indent.

I had to have my keyless entry module replaced as it was temperamental, always had to take my keys out of my pocket and use the fob button. Once it was replaced and the software was updated it now works flawlessly.
A key fob usually has buttons for locking and unlocking the car. Lock your car and place the key fob a few metres away, then try to open the driver's side door. Your car door shouldn't open because it's locked. Then, with the fob on you, try the door again. If the car unlocks and the door opens, you have keyless entry. If not, you haven't.

You don't scan or plug the fob, just have it in your pocket or bag. It doesn't unlock or lock itself, you press a small button in the door handle, or use the fob as normal. To start or stop the engine, just press the power button. There is an emergency key inside the fob. Hope this helps, Ray.
